The new model of car registration certificates in Poland will apply from May. It is supposed to be more difficult to counterfeit. At first glance, it will be difficult to see the changes.
Car registration changes planned since last year
The change in registration documents was planned since last year. It was then that the Ministry of Infrastructure published a new model. Drivers should not expect a visual revolution from May 1. First of all, the security layer will be improved. Evidence is going to be harder to forge.
From the point of view of the vehicle owner, the most important thing is to replace the document. This one will happen gradually. The ministerial regulation stipulates that the current model will still be valid after May 1, 2022.
What’s more, as auto-swiat.pl noted, after May 1, 2022, you will still be able to receive a registration certificate in the currently valid model. The regulation provides for such a possibility until July 11, 2022.

Not many new registrations
These months not many new car registrations are expected to be made because of the inflation and high energy prices but also the interest rates that are very high will also have a negative effect on the new car registrations.
But maybe it will change with the Polish Deal 2.0 where the tax will be lowered from 17 Percent to 12 percent in Poland. But only time will tell and the war in Ukraine and its development will also have a huge impact on the Polish economy incl. buying cars and both old and new cars in Poland.
