Drivers’ protests against high fuel prices will take place at many Orlen stations this weekend. The organisers of the action “Blocking Orlen” indicated several dozen locations where queues of “broken” cars will be formed.
Drivers’ protests against the rising fuel prices
Rising fuel prices have led to, to say the least, considerable discontent among drivers. In Bielsko-Biała, at the Orlen station, a group of drivers organised a spontaneous protest, lining up their “broken” cars in the queue to the station, thus blocking the entry of other customers.
Now the action “Blocking Orlen” is to be nationwide. And this is coming Saturday, June 11th. Then, at the stations of the Polish fuel concern, entries will be blocked, i.e. similar actions that took place in Bielsko-Biała.
The protesters are to create an “artificial” line to the station. The entire action is to be supervised by protest coordinators who will ensure that everything is done in accordance with the law. On the website of the “Blocking Orlen” event, the organisers indicated that its goal is to oppose the policy of the Orlen authorities, “which despite the dollar exchange rate and prices per barrel of oil, drives prices on the Polish fuel market.” At the same time, they also emphasise that they are not satisfied with “how the government (not) copes with this problem and sweeps it under the rug”.
