The inflation peak should be expected in the second half of this year, believes Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki.
Inflation peak in the last half of 2022
“We follow the forecasts of international institutions, in particular the National Bank of Poland. The current predictions are that in the second half of this year the summit should take place, but […] it all depends also on the international situation. If the crisis in Ukraine worsens, if the increase in commodity prices translates into higher and higher prices of all products, inflation may last”, Morawiecki said during a press conference.
“But I hope, as I have just read from the analyses of the National Bank of Poland (NBP) and international institutions, that this summit will take place in the second half of this year” – he added.
Highest level this year in June or July
According to the expectations of the National Bank of Poland (NBP), consumer inflation will reach its highest level this year in June or July. The Head of the National Bank of Poland, Adam Glapiński has by the way very recently got a new term as the Head of the National Bank of Poland
