An employee from Ukraine is very desirable for Polish companies

The Polish labour market is strongly open to specialists from Ukraine. According to the latest analysis, employers want to offer them employment for a long time and many of them are already working in Poland.

8 out of 10 Polish firms want to hire a Ukrainian

The Antal study shows that 56 percent of Polish companies intend to employ a Ukrainian specialist for more than a year. And 8 out of 10 employers declare their willingness to be employed under a contract of employment. Interestingly, the condition is not knowledge of the Polish language. However, employees from the East should know English. This is indicated by 7 out of 10 employers (for comparison, 6 out of 10 companies are looking for a Polish-speaking employee).

“The potential that employees from Ukraine can bring with them in the long term is appreciated primarily by sectors that have been facing staff shortages for a long time, including shortages of specialists and managers. They include, among others IT, construction, transport and logistics.

Ready to support them with language classes

We observe great readiness among employers to hire Ukrainian specialised employees for a longer period and to offer them stable employment contracts. And also readiness to support in the field of language learning, integration with the company and finding oneself in a new and difficult situation”  says Artur Skiba, President of Antal.

Knowledge of languages, especially English, is more important for employers than experience in the industry, which is required by 58% of the Polish companies,  42 percent and 39 percent, respectively, expect Ukrainian specialists and managers to have a specialised education and a high level of motivation to work.

There are many jobs to get for them in Poland and one reason is that many Ukrainian have left Poland to fight in the war against Russia. But there is a big willingness to help all people from Ukraine and it shows the close bond between the two countries.
