The cause of the businessman’s death has not yet been revealed. – On the websites of TAGO hotels and companies. I am only authorised to provide information that Tadeusz Gołębiewski is dead – emphasised Agnieszka Gawińska.

Tadeusz Gołębiewski businessman for many years

Tadeusz Gołębiewski graduated from the confectionery technical school, and then the Main School of Planning and Statistics (now SGH). He started his adventure in business over 50 years ago with the production of cookies, which he kneaded in Frania’s washing machine. In 1972 he founded the Confectionery Industry Enterprise Tago near Radzymin. Currently, the company conducts export activities covering over 60 countries on 5 continents.

The entrepreneur was also the founder of a chain of luxury hotels. The most famous is in Mikołajki. The hotel was put into use in 1991 and the investment paid off after 26 years. The businessman also owned similar facilities in Wisła and Karpacz.

Currently, a hotel is being built in Pobierowo, which is to be the largest facility belonging to the Gołębiewski hotel chain. Even 3,000 guests and half a thousand employees – this is how much this facility should be able to accommodate. The hotel will accommodate 1400 rooms and conference space for up to 4 thousand. people.

Megalomania or a hotel tailored to our needs?

The construction of the hotel was accompanied by great emotions from the very beginning. Supporters argued that it is great that a modern facility will be created that will provide guests with entertainment also on rainy days, which are abundant on the Baltic Sea. They gave the example of Karpacz, which would not have attracted large conferences (including the most important Economic Forum in its plot, which so far took place in Krynica-Zdrój), if not for the conference and accommodation facilities in the form of the gigantic Gołębiewski hotel.

The hotel attracted big business to Karpacz, which benefited the city and owners of smaller facilities and restaurants – so some were convinced. Critics say, in turn, that the hotel in Pobierowo is a manifestation of megalomania and will dominate the area. Too big, too tall, visible from anywhere in the commune, because it grows above the canopy of trees.
