Advanced Graphene Products, an innovative Polish company involved in the production of graphene on an industrial scale, has signed a cooperation agreement with the American tycoon – Garmor Inc., belonging to the Asbury Carbons Group. As a result, it will significantly increase the scale of operations and expand its sales markets.
A leading European partner on the graphene market
The cooperation between Advanced Graphene Product and Garmor will concern the mutual distribution of their own products in the US and the EU. As a result, both companies will increase the scale of operations, broaden the offer and the opportunities for the first mass use of graphene in areas such as polymers or anti-corrosion coatings.
“On the European market, we will be the only representative of Garmor in the EU in the field of REACH certification. At the same time, our products will be available from the leading supplier of carbon and graphite products used in global industrial applications – The Absbury, to which the Garmor group belongs. Garmor will take an active part in the search for potential partners interested in graphene-based solutions developed by AGP (polymers, oils / lubricants, anti-corrosion coatings).
Our cooperation also involves mutual exhibitions at trade fairs. I am convinced that this is a turning point for the development of Advanced Graphene Products, ”said Maciej Gałązka, President of the Management Board of Advanced Graphene Products.
Graphene for the shipbuilding and automotive industries
Graphene may be one of the most useful materials in the world. Though only one carbon atom thick, it is many times stronger than steel and very flexible. Since it was first isolated by scientists in 2004, the list of graphene patents has grown exponentially every year.
Soon, this material will usher in a technological revolution that could really change the world. One of the areas that will commercialise Advanced Graphene Product is anti-corrosion coatings.
Graphene is virtually impermeable, so a layer of graphene-based paint can be used to eliminate corrosion and rust. Scientists have even shown that glass vessels or copper plates coated with graphene paint can serve as containers for highly corrosive acids.
Paint with the addition of graphene has a great chance to become a truly revolutionary product for industries dealing with all kinds of protection against weather conditions or corrosive chemicals. The shipbuilding, automotive and aviation industries will benefit from this.
“The collaboration with Garmor will help us commercialise the use of graphene in paints, lubricants and anti-corrosion oils faster. Not without significance is the vast experience of our American partner on the market, which is undoubtedly one of the most innovative in the world. The signing of the cooperation agreement coincided with our stock exchange debut in Warsaw.
I think this is great news for all our shareholders. We are at the beginning of the road, but today no one has any doubts that graphene will change the world ” commented Piotr Zawistowski, the main shareholder of Advanced Graphene Products.
Garmor Inc. in Europe
Garmor Inc. It is a company dealing with highly specialised materials. It has a patented, environmentally friendly process of commercial graphene production – Edge Functionalized Graphene (EFG). It belongs to the global producer of graphite and carbon materials – Asbury Carbons, Inc. Garmor has unique graphene solutions for the enrichment of: adhesives, asphalt, cement, coatings, as well as plastics and metal-based composites.
“We are very pleased with the signing of the cooperation agreement with Advanced Graphene Products. Together, our teams bring tremendous engineering talents to the table in commercial applications of graphene. This deal is in line with Asbury’s strategy to develop our advanced product in European markets.
The deadline for signing the cooperation agreement perfectly adapted to our growing production capacity. We are currently investing in Lumberton, North Carolina, which will focus on the commercial production of Garmor products.
At the same time, we are upgrading a pilot line in Orlando, Florida, which will be launched in late 2022. My congratulations to the AGP and Asbury-Garmor teams, ”concluded Noah Nichelson, Asbury Carbons CEO.
